Mitsubishi Concept Global Small

Mitsubishi has presented at the Geneva Motor Show prototype anticipating the replacement for the Mitsubishi Colt or retaining new version name. It is a B-segment car very contained dimensions: 3.74 meters long, 1.68 meters wide and 1.49 meters high. Mitsubishi Concept Global Small

The idea of this model is to serve both the emerging needs of emerging power engine for developed countries like ours who are looking for more efficient utility. Be manufactured in Thailand, in a volume of 150,000 to 200,000 units annually worldwide.

Gasoline engines mounted low cylinder with Stop / Start (Auto Stop & Go in this brand) or a future electric variant. Can accommodate five adults inside (something tight, of course) and have a "good cargo space" (sic). Can adapt to the demands of local markets with little cost.

In segment B the margin per car sold is small, so that manufacturing efficiency is vital. Thinking of economies of scale, should have a very competitive price in Europe. Gasoline engines are three cylinder 1.0 or 1.2, both with MIVEC engine and regenerative braking (microhybrids).

We promise a fuel-efficient, expect 3.9 l/100 km or less. The final model will go on sale later this year, this is a statement of intent next to production. They also promise a low cost of operation and maintenance, an important criterion in this segment.

It will play in the Asian markets (including China), Japan, North America, Russia, Europe, Australia and "many other markets" (sic) not mention Latin America. The current Colt is a little larger, almost 3.9 meters long. Still sells from 8,980 euros (1.1 Inform) to 11,150 euros (1.3 Intense).
