New recall of Toyota and Lexus ... out of sheer paranoia

A few hours ago has been reported by Toyota and Lexus are going to do a recall once again. This time it is because they had to have done, not by accident, is already on paranoia. They are "concerned" (to put it in some way) basically the Lexus RX manufactured between February 2003 and January 2006 about two million worldwide.

That in Spain are 2,966 units. Will be reviewed in all cases whether the "trim the carpet in the center console" (sic) can be finished and finish releasing interfering with the accelerator pedal. 0 accidents have occurred because of this, but 4 (four) people in the U.S. have complained about this possibility.

Now that the famous call to review the case and other Pedalgate still hot, and applies the policy of "zero tolerance." The review itself is somewhat important in my opinion. What is relevant is the level of paranoia, which will cost millions of cars and check everything by 4 customers who have complained.

I do not deny the possibility that such evolution can occur, but I guess there will be something sudden, so that could endanger anyone's life. Maybe. And yes, it is best to do proactively to wait until you have been victims or retaliation by authorities.

There is precedent for this policy as pseudo-paranoid about the Lexus GX, luxury versions of the Land Cruiser that had the "default" to overturn a 100 km / h in full and turned the steering wheel violently to one side. ESP has been recalibrated to avoid it. How many cars can tip the market in these circumstances?

Well, probably more than we think ... beginning with those that pass the test even moose. Dacia Duster sure the dump to 100 km / h turning the direction of everything and suddenly, and there has been no recall of Renault to resolve it, or wait.

Like all car brands apply this policy, the DGT will not have nobody to fine, all cars will be in another week and week workshop also for various reasons that cause discomfort to less than 10 customers anywhere in the world.
